May 1st is the deadline for Public School Choice Applications:

This is public school choice deadline reminder from the Salem School District.  Arkansas law allows students to attend a public school in a district other than the one in which they reside. Before a student can attend a public school in a nonresident district, the student's parent or guardian must submit an application to the nonresident district.  Applications must be postmarked no later than May 1st of the year the student would begin the fall semester in the nonresident district. School Choice forms are accepted on a first come, first served basis.  Filing an application does not guarantee acceptance as resident and non-resident districts must comply with local policy and Act 560 of 2015.  Please call the Salem Superintendentís office (870-895-2516) for an application or additional information.
